Therapy is an opportunity to consider your contribution towards the current situation or problem. Traditionally, it is very easy to blame the current situation on the other person without seeing your contribution. Be open to criticism without being defensive at all. As you will realize, most of the issues are usually a misunderstanding and therefore can easily be solved.

By attending couple therapy, you are sending a clear message that your desire to remain together is as strong as ever. Take this opportunity to find ways of making things work despite the challenges. This might require acquisition of new skills as well as a change in attitude. Spot what motivates you and your partner to remain together and endeavor to strengthen it.
