There are several factors a male client has to consider before getting a cut. They include the different hair cutting techniques available, an individuals preference and the kind of benefits and desired results expected from the cut by the client. Different results are brought out by different shaving techniques used. It is important for the stylist to clearly explain the kind of cut they will give a client in a clear and concise language that can be clearly understood by the client.

One of the techniques is known as slide cutting. It is used to bring out and soften the facials features of a person. It basically eliminates some weight and creates texture. It is used normally on people who are curly-haired since it defines the curls. This type of shave is not suitable for people who are fine- haired.

The second technique is the razor cutting method. It is used to reduce the weight possess by thick- haired individuals. It also softens the facial features of an individual. Besides softening the facial features, it relieves the weight and it adds movement. Curls also become bouncier.

Layering is another technique used. Layering is commonly used on fine or thick haired people. It aids in adding movement and creating a versatile array to your style. Layers also help to add texture and volume to a fine-haired individual. Layers are normally used to reduce weight.

Fourthly is the point cutting technique. This form of cut is appropriate for all hair types. It is often used to soften bluntness caused by cuts. This procedure is used typically on styles that are shorter since it adds interest and texture to the style, remove bulk and achieve balance where it seems too thick. This technique offers different varieties to similar styles.

Another technique used by male clients is known as the thinning method. The tools required for this exercise includes razor or scissors. The characteristics of a certain style are often softened and reduction in weight is achieved. One of the blades of the kind of scissors used in this procedure has notches. A strand that slips into the notches is not cut. In the process, large portions will be cut off at once without having to worry about of shaving too much.

Another technique is using a pair of scissors with the assistance of a comb. This is probably the easiest method and the cheapest. A comb and a pair of scissors are used. Any strands that exceed the size of the comb are cut. The best kind of comb to use is the fine-toothed one. While using this method, always ensures that the remnant is in a level state.

Different male clients have different hair types and different preferences. They should be well advised on the different types of hair cutting techniques available by the stylist. The stylist can also recommend the appropriate type of cut to be done on the client if they are at a loss on what type of cut to adopt.
