People in the western world are now fatter then ever before. Through a combination of bad diet and insufficient exercise, many are now obese. Obesity is one of the greatest health challenges in the developed world as it leads to a myriad of diseases and illnesses. A burning fat mentor will use a combination of advice, motivation and one one guidance to ensure people lose weight quickly and permanently.

There are several benefits involved in taking out a long-term membership of a gym. As well as the use of specialized equipment in a professional setting, there are usually a number of fully qualified instructors and fitness experts available to offer guidance and answer questions. Hiring people like this would be very expensive if done independently, making the price of gym membership cost-effective.

The first thing an instructor will do is meet with the client and discuss what the final goal is. For many, the main priority is weight loss. However, there will be some people who want a radical change in lifestyle. Whatever he goal, it is important that an individual's capabilities are assessed before an exercise regime can commence.

A mentor will take a client through all the necessary warm-ups that are required to ensure muscles are sufficiently stretched and warmed up. Only by doing this, will injury be prevented. While there are many fat burning exercises available, many instructors favor the interval training regime as it can be easily adapted to suit an individual's capabilities.

Most commonly involving cardiovascular exercise, this form of regime often uses cycling, rowing or running machines within the gym. The client is asked to imagine levels of physical exertion on a scale from one to ten. One is the bare minimum of effort, while ten on the scale involves pushing the body to its very limit. The regime usually begins at level three or four and that level of exertion is maintained for a minimum of two minutes.

Each level of exertion is maintained for two minutes or more, depending on the instructor and the exerciser. The exertion level is then raised for another fixed period. This continues until the level of exertion has reached ten, or in some cases, nine. Once completed, the process reverts back to level three or four and is repeated. How many times this happens is dependent on personal fitness levels.

People prefer this exercise regime as it is entirely subjective. Everyone, regardless of their own fitness, can gauge what a level ten is, therefore can also relate to all the other levels of exertion within the scale. By exercising at the very limit of a person's ability, the process of fat burning is sped up considerably.

A burning fat mentor will also give expert advice on diet. Many people fall into the trap of exercising vigorously, without making the necessary changes to diet. The body needs the correct fuel, like any car, in order to perform at its best. Certain changes in diet can make exercise more effective and speed up the process of weight loss. It is also worth remembering that increases in the frequency and amount of food consumed are sometimes beneficial. It isn't always a matter of reducing calorie intake.
