Working out on exercise bicycles, rowing machines and treadmills have a tendency to get dull at times. I personally love to jog outdoors and primarily just use the treadmill machine whenever it's raining. If we would like our workout to turn out to be a lot more exciting, some of us commonly go to the parks as well as the pathways on the streets to run or ride the bike. It also provides for us more encouragement and enhances the fun when we find other folks enjoying a similar thing hoping to live a healthy lifestyle.

However, there's a minor down side in terms of exercising outdoors - there's smog. As most of us might not have the comfort of having a recreation area with plenty of trees or perhaps a stadium track in close proximity, we generally jog or cycle within the dedicated running or biking trails on the side of the streets.

Although the effects may well be small provided we are not really running or cycling on busy roads, we're also subjected to with pollution nonetheless.

So what are some simple tips to fight the effects of smog? The secret is to consume certain foods full of vitamin antioxidants. Precisely what are antioxidants? Webmd.com describes them as vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that protect and repair cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Where to find these? As a general rule, those fruits and vegetables which are bright colored are generally abundant with anti-oxidants which include tomatoes, red, green or yellow bell peppers, strawberries and blueberries. Others that are also abundant in Vitamin C and E including eggplant, apples, broccoli, plums and raisins are also rich in antioxidants. Ensure your daily diet contains a minimum of 5 portions of vegetables and fruits to help protect your body against ozone pollution.
