The paleo lifestyle is increasing in popularity, and so is the market for paleo-friendly protein bars. The problem is that these bars can get pricey, and they may not have the flavor selections you want.



If you've been here before, and you like spending time in the kitchen - why not create your very own healthy protein bars? They may take some time to bake, and they do not come in convenient single-serving containers, however, with some practice and some closable plastic bags, you can produce your very own nutritious snack bars that you can take along with you in the car, to the health club or while taking a trip.

If you have actually ever read the labels for paleo bars, you probably have discovered a few similarities. There are usually less than 10 ingredients, and many include nuts, coconut, protein powder and sometimes dried fruit.

These are all products that you can purchase at your neighborhood grocery store, mix in a blender, spread out in a baking tray and cook for approximately 15 minutes. When finished, you just take the baking dish out to cool, slice your creation into single-size servings and store in air-tight containers that are ready to eat when you are.

The first few recipes that you make may turn out some unexpected results as far as discovering the taste and consistency you prefer. There are several free recipes online that you can browse by doing a quick search in a search engine.

As soon as you find a dish that you like, you can get nuts, seeds and protein powder in bulk and cut your costs. In addition to having nutritious meals - you will be spending less cash as well!

Nuts, naturally, include protein, however, some people include egg or protein powder to boost the quantity.

Nuts, shredded coconut and dried blueberries will not stick together by themselves. You want to add ingredients such as almond butter, coconut oil with flax seed meal or honey to keep all of the components from falling apart.

Seasonings such as almond extract or cinnamon can spice up your bars, together with a touch of salt. Get innovative with the paleo items you include in your very own dishes, as this can boost the flavor, increase the selection and make it easier to enjoy the paleolithic way of life.
